About
Olivia Saporit0 (b.1998) lives and works in Queens, New York and Vermont.
Statement
Olivia Saporito creates work that explores the intersection between object and image, aiming to construct the materiality of memory through the mode of lens based sculpture. She is invested in presenting and processing the archive - found photos, slides, and frames through staged photographs and sculptures made by found objects, lenses and furniture to create interactive viewing devices.
Saporito’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, at The International Center of Photography, Pamela Salisbury Gallery, Cynthia Reeves Gallery at Mass MoCA, Kunsthaus Kule Gallery, Tête Gallery, The Bennington Museum, Usdan Gallery and Vox Populi Gallery.
Saporito received her BA in Visual Arts from Bennington College in 2020.
